Hi all! I’m Wouter, the Platform E-commerce Manager over at Suitsupply. At Suitsupply I’m responsible for all of the tooling that we use at the E-commerce department.
My career so far is maybe a bit different than usual. It involves building websites at a really young age in the era of dial-up modems, starting a company and hiring employees when I was 17-18 years old and selling that company to an investment company before the age of 25, where I would stick around for another 5 years before getting bored.
Anyway, long story short, since July 2022 I’m with Suitsupply to get them to a bit more composable e-commerce stack. Part of that is a decent CDP. So shortly after I joined, we started our first POC with Segment. In the summer of 2023 we signed with Segment to start ‘for real’.
I like to think that I’m a bit more hands-on than your typical manager, as besides drawing up the technical designs and setting out the strategy when it comes to our tooling/stack, I do a lot of the configuration of the tools myself. Of course I am helped by a lot of dedicated and smart people in the various teams of Suitsupply to make it all happen.
A bit on me personally: I live in the Netherlands, together with my girlfriend. In my spare time I like to play board games and enjoy a good whisky.
